Coalition Peace Festival

The Coalition peace festival was hosted at one of the most unique venues we have ever worked in…. Spitbank Fort

Spitbank Fort is situated a mile out to sea off the coast of Portsmouth and is one of the UK's most fascinating venues with a wealth of history and character to explore.

On Saturday 11th April 2009 we trucked, shipped and installed two sound systems onto Spitbank fort for the Coalition festival.

The festival was a mixture of live bands and DJ’s which meant a complete live band set-up had to also be shipped over. The main arena was taken care of by 6 six stacks of d&b C4 while the 2nd arena was taken care of by two stacks of Void Acoustics Stasys X & Stasys 3 as this was spec’ed by the promoters themselves.

We made sound checking the live bands very easy by using a Yamaha LS9 32 mixing desk which allowed us to save all of the pre-sets / settings for each band which in turn means when that band came on all we had to do was recall there settings….. easy.

The live stage was filled with eight d&b Max 15 monitors, over 25x AKG & Shure beta microphones along with there own monitor engineer again using the slightly smaller Yamaha LS9 16 mixing desk.

The festival ran faultlessly from start to finish and we only had good positive compliments from not only the promoters but from the bands and DJ’s themselves saying we were very easy to work with and it sounded just the way they wanted.

We returned twice after that event supplying not just sound but lighting & lasers as well across 3 arenas

Unfortunately Spitbank decided to put the fort up for sale & the amazing unique venue went on auction on Nov 4th 2009.

It will be missed...
