Set within a sprawling 700 acres of country estate within a serene Surrey Hills valley is Marden Park Mansion. A part of Woldingham School, this exclusive-use 19th century mansion sits on the Surrey / Kent border and offers couples the chance to feel like king and queen for the day in one of the most picturesque settings Surrey has to offer.

That was the case just a few months ago as we helped a betrothed couple celebrate their special day in the autumn sunshine. So let’s tell you a little bit more about how we helped create the perfect wedding event production. 

Event Production Supplied to Exclusive Surrey Wedding Venue

We started outdoors, where the post-ceremony drinks reception was to be held (before the dinner and dancing of the main wedding reception). 

There was a large and imposing pergola which we softened by wrapping wedding fairy lights around it. Next, we set up a couple of battery-powered PA speakers to play gentle background music while guests milled about the patio area with their glasses of prosecco. 

Of course, this was merely the beginning of our efforts and the bulk of the work was contained within the main reception room. 

Sound, Lighting, Dance Floor, and Venue Draping Supplied to Surrey Wedding 

Moving into the main reception area, our first task was setting up the room to look as the couple had requested via the in-house wedding coordinator. We started with setting up the white wedding venue drapes, which hung from the ceiling and other strategic locations. We complemented these drapes with wireless venue uplighters that gave off a soft white glow in keeping with the overall theme. 

Next, we moved on to the live entertainment’s technical requirements. We supplied and installed one of our smaller indoor stage hire options and then began work on the professional sound equipment. The bride and groom had booked a live band, which we then liaised with during the lead up to the event to ensure we supplied everything they needed. 

In the end, we provided vocal and instrumental mics from Shure, an all-inclusive PA system from d&b audiotechnik, and we ran everything through a Midas digital mixing desk. Our sound engineer stayed on for the duration of the event to ensure the live band sounded every bit as good as they should. 

The final act was the dance floor area. We started by constructing a small truss structure and rigging it with a range of disco lighting fixtures before moving onto the dance floor itself. We installed a 150 square-metre LED dance floor, which twinkled under the guests’ feet as they danced the night away.
