The Shure Beta 56a is primarily a compact drum microphone specifically engineered for close miking of snare and toms with it’s tolerance for high Sound Pressure Levels. It possesses a supercardioid pickup pattern to provide maximum isolation from other onstage sounds and to reduce bleed from other individual drum components.
Although primarily designed for miking snare and toms, it also excels when used with other instruments such as guitar and bass amps, brass and saxophone amongst others.
This mic also features an in-built adapter dynamic locking system for fitting to a mic stand or mounting bracket, along with a standard XLR connector for simple set up and maximum flexibility.
It’s aforementioned uniform supercardioid pickup pattern provides high gain-before-feedback as well as superior rejection of off-axis sound.
It’s compact design reduces stage and studio clutters and boasts a hardened steel mesh grille to resist even the toughest wear and abuse.
