Set in 35 acres of ancient woodland and boasting idyllic views overlooking the Surrey Hills, Stanhill Court Hotel is the perfect events venue for all kinds of occasions. Better still, this country manor house has been recently refurbished to a high standard, making it even more inviting for events such as weddings and conferences. 

A few months ago, we were brought in (as the preferred AV equipment and services provider) to help with an all-day corporate conference. So let’s tell you a little bit more about the work we carried out for this event.

The event was in the IT industry. A select group of under 100 delegates had paid for tickets to see several key movers and shakers in the industry give their thoughts on current hot topics within the industry. 

Our job was to assist the speakers and event organisers by providing an all-encompassing AV installation that more than catered for the needs of the audience and the size of the function room.

Being IT guys, we didn’t need to provide some of the necessary equipment such as laptops and HDMI cables (we usually do), but we did take care of the rest, as we shall now explain.

We started with supplying and installing one of our top-of-the-range LED projectors, which we complemented with a tripod projector screen of 7′ x 5′. Once we had set them both up, we liaised with the organiser and the keynote speakers to connect everything up, adjust projector settings, and quickly conduct a dry run to ensure they were comfortable with everything. 

Once comfortable, we then moved on to the sound requirements. Since there were only 100 delegates in attendance and the room wasn’t enormous, we could get away with just a couple of PA speakers. We then supplied and set up a couple of radio lapel mics for the presenters, ran everything through a mixing desk, and conducted sound checks to ensure everything sounded A-OK. 

We then left the organisers to it as they started the conference after the initial coffee and pastries. We returned late in the afternoon to pick everything up, and the host said everything went off without a hitch, which is precisely what we wanted to hear.
